Fusing elements of R&B, pop and electronic music, Texas’ own RVRB is carving out a lane of his own. His new single, “EX,” available everywhere today, is raw, heartbreaking and instantly enthralling.

Kick Kick Snare premiered “EX,” RVRB‘s hypnotizing new single. In conversation with the influential music blog, RVRB explained that the new release is “the beginning of a rebirth for me.” A bitter heartbreak fueled the song but also helped give RVRB the emotional release he needed to move on. As he puts it, “songwriting is usually never that easy, but pain is a great driving force behind art.”

If James Blake, M83, & The Weeknd had a baby, you’d get RVRB. Recently relocated to Los Angeles, Cameron Mitchell – the mind behind the mysterious producer/songwriter/artist – makes music that is poignant, honest, emotional and authentic to the very core. It’s uninhibited by genre and instead borrows from different lanes of music in order to create a truly unique sound. Given the deeply personal nature of all of RVRB’s music, it comes as no surprise that he is also a one-man music machine, writing, producing and performing all of his releases. Each song gives us a glimmer into the mysterious act’s world.

Despite only having a few releases out to date, the buzzy LA artist has already garnered millions of streams and recently caught the attention of Primary Wave who signed him for publishing.
