“She A Winner” is acclaimed rapper Trouble’s long awaited follow up his Edgewood album project of 2018 with Mike Will, homage to Atlanta’s Edgewood project in which Trouble grew up, as detailed through the album’s skits. The 37-minute Edgewood film treatment (directed by Derek Schklar) received unanimous tastemaker raves across the board, and has picked up over 530,000 YouTube views to-date.
Trouble, who has won the admiration of Drake, the Weeknd, Young Thug, Yo Gotti, and Waka Flocka Flame to name a few, first stuck his head out of Atlanta’s über-competitive rap scene eight years ago with his debut mixtape, December 17th. Described by Fader as “a slightly more nuanced and cerebral form of fight music,” it made Complex magazine’s “The 25 best mixtapes of 2011” list, and earned a spot for Trouble on the Complex roster of “15 new Rappers To Watch Out For.” That was echoed in 2013, on the XXL survey of “15 ATL Rappers You Should Know.”
