    Stella Katherine Cole Releases Two New Singles “Fine” & “Invincible”

    Stella Cole and Emma Scotson are a musical duo who recently released two singles with GRAMMY-award-winning producer/mixer/engineer Dave O’Donnell. Emma writes and Stella sings. They’re long-time best friends and roommates whose opposite personalities and aesthetics make them an engaging and frankly unstoppable
    duo. After Stella amassed a following of over 250k on TikTok for singing jazz standards, she teamed up with Emma and Dave to create over 30 originals.

    Their work refuses to stick to one genre, musically reflecting all the nuances of young life and love. Emma’s writing style is unconventional and experimental. She abandons standard song structure to aid storytelling: background vocals mock you as if you are a puppy, instrumentation starts and stops with no
    predictability and bass lines are rewound to create eerie confusion.

    Stella is known for her classic “Old Hollywood” feel and a vocal styling that resembles Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald. The classic, vintage vocal tone paired with the modern and edgy writing style results in a sound many find difficult to categorize or describe.

    “Fine” is an alternative R&B track that aims to encapsulate the act of saying “no” without having to explain the story of why. It was written in a 10-minute haze, resulting in blunt lyrics with no metaphors ( very atypical of Emma’s writing style). “Invincible” is a heavy adult contemporary ballad that takes you on a journey through Emma’s gorgeous and relentless lyrical storytelling and Stella’s emotionally intimate and beautiful vocal performance.

    Through heavy imagery and symbolism, “Invincible” tells the story of a girl who is drowned by a toxic relationship, leading her to the decision that she’ll never let anyone in again, even if that means a life of loneliness and isolation.

    This hands-on indie duo has made a lot happen for themselves in a short amount of time. They produced, created, directed, and starred in their latest music video, created their cover art, conceptualized pre and post-release promotion, managed social media collaborations with other artists, and hired college ambassadors to promote their music on campuses nationwide.
