SOLAK, the LoFi-Indie Folk-Pop artist from Belgium, also known as Lukas Somers, is back with a brand-new single from his upcoming album Atlas. Now signed to Capitane Records (France), SOLAK recorded his latest project at the breathtaking Ocean Sound Recording Studios in Norway, where artists like Arcade Fire and Travis have recorded.

Melancholic yet extremely melodic, almost everything you hear is played by SOLAK himself, from bass to piano, guitar, drums, and percussion. His music sounds fragile, delicate, and introverted, drawing listeners into a universe of its own.

    About “Stranger Things”

“Stranger Things,” the oldest song on the album, reflects the feeling of always wanting more, of being different, and how to cope with it. It’s about giving advice to others but being unable to follow your own advice.

Musically, SOLAK aimed for something light and playful, full of paradoxes, as the lyrics suggest. The song includes a two-part guitar solo that feels very ’80s, a sound Lukas wanted to blend with warm, saturated percussion.

    About Atlas

Atlas is SOLAK’s second album, due for release on November 15th. The album was created in the inspirational setting of Ocean Sound Recording Studios, surrounded by the sea on three sides. With technician/mixer Steven Van Gelder, SOLAK meticulously crafted a sound that evokes deep emotional resonance. The songs span a wide emotional range, with darker tracks feeling more intense while lighter songs are performed with a grander sound.

SOLAK’s music invites listeners to interpret the songs through their own experiences, avoiding over-explanation. Rooted in authenticity, his work doesn’t aim for commercial success but rather seeks comfort, introspection, and a connection with those who listen.
