    Shenna Releases New Self-Love Anthem “Confident”

    R&B/Pop sensation and multi hyphenate Shenna is back with an empowering self-love anthem “Confident.”

    “Confident is an anthem I wanted to create for everyone– tall, short, skinny, curvy, and people of all different backgrounds. I used to listen to a lot of fun songs by Gwen Stefani and Fergie and my alter ego came out when I heard this beat. I knew right away I wanted to give it that type of fun feel and vibe.     Shenna is set to debut new music from her forthcoming EP with her live band at Melrose Ballroom in New York on Wednesday, August 14. Info and tickets are available here. Shenna will also be performing at this year’s All Things Go Fall Classic in DC October 12-13.

    Shenna Somsmieh, known by her stage name Shenna, is a singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, co-producer, and model who, since the age of seven, has performed in front of thousands across the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. 

    Hailing from Woodbridge, Virginia, Shenna’s received some heavy airplay in the U.S and in several countries around the world including Poland, Australia, Ghana, and the U.K. Several of her records (including two from her debut album Made Of Gold) are featured on the 2016 season of Oxygen’s The Bad Girls Club (“You Can’t Sit With Us,” “Made Of Gold,” “So Love”), MTV’s Teen Mom OG (“Control“), MTV’s Finding Carter (“Take Your Time“), and Netflix’s film Miss Stevens (“Made Of Gold”). 
    Shenna closed out 2018 with a Reebok ad campaign. Following the big placement of her “Magenta” single on FOX’s hit show Lethal Weapon at the top of 2019, Shenna’s “Made Of Gold” title track is set to  feature in the Disney Plus exclusive film StarGirl (starring Grace VanderWaal).

    An unrelenting advocate of young women empowerment, Shenna exudes the boldness of icons Rihanna and Lady Gaga both in her fashion sense, and music. Her Syrian and African-American identity has also had a profound influence on Shenna’s artistry. 

    Shenna’s debut EP, Dream In Color, held the number one spot on Bandcamp in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia market for several months. Her forthcoming EP Blue Memories is due out at the end of Summer 2019.
