    Darius Adams of Minneapolis, MN, is an American Rapper who is widely known by his stage name ‘Meeko Not Neeko.’ Currently residing in Houston, TX, He started creating music at the age of 21. Inspired by the attention his talent afforded him, Meeko Not Neeko knew he wanted to be a musician professionally during a stint in prison when the entire lunch room was reciting the lyrics to one of his songs titled “No Bars”. Which would be featured on his 2017 debut release.

    Meeko Not Neeko cites DMX, Young Jeezy, and R&B music in general as musical influences. Overall he is most influenced by a new wave and style of rapping created by him that he likes to call “in my feelings rap”. Appropriately named, his style of music is evident in his October 2017 release ‘Finally Off Section 8’. This album is mellow with chill vibes oozing from each track. His records inspires the listener to think and reflect on real life situations and struggles that many can relate to.

    ‘Finally Off Section 8’ consist of 8 tracks with ‘No Bars,’ ‘The Blues’ and ‘Don’t Save Me’ being amongst his fan favorites. Meeko Not Neeko writes music from a place of realness, diversity and understanding of trials and triumphs, struggles and success. Something his fans and anyone who has lived a less than perfect life can relate to and understand.

    In 2017 Meeko Not Neeko won 3rd place at The ATL Indie Fest Tour and was named one of the top 50 artist in Houston. He has also performed at PLAE Club in Houston, 6340 Club in Atlanta, at a couple events for DJ Brandon Moss and has music spinning at Love2Jam Radio station. He has also been interviewed at Love2Jam and by Houston Global Magazine.
