Alt-pop artist Lomboy (Tanja Frinta) is poised to release a brand new track with the arrival of ‘Like Me’ due this September through Kitsuné Musique.

She says: “I like to write about the spontaneous and rigid lanes of romantic tales released in a space made of asphalt and artificial paradise, skyscrapers warping, where strangers meet for a cemetery walk after midnight, awakening the demons hidden underneath.”

Drawing on a myriad of influences from pop, electronic, soul and R&B, Tanja has traversed the globe having spent time in Tokyo, Sweden, Brussels and now Paris. The global connection and spirit is evident in her body of work from the last EP ‘Caress’ that spawned the hit track ‘Loverboy’, Lomboy’s new release is produced by hotly tipped London producer Yoad Nevo (Sia, Goldfrapp, Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Moby, Morcheeba).

She says: “Yoad was very empathetic and easy to work with and incredible flexible. My demos are usually pretty lofi, I like working with textures of various samples, Yoad never tries to impose anything or change the substance, at the contrary, he has a way to bring out that sound I’m after, keeping its authenticity but making it more lucid. It’s a paradox, because I like ambiguity and obscurity – both in sound and lyrics – but a certain clarity, can even help to highlight the blur.”

Lomboy’s music exudes emotion and sensuality, through the vocals and intricate compositions, she wants to create a feeling of euphoria and a guilty pleasure, like a stolen kiss.
