Hot Bodies In Motion Drops Electrifying New Single “Hymn 151”

Soulful rock pair Hot Bodies In Motion has released “Hymn 151,” a story ten years in the making about lust and how the things we want the most are seldom the things we need. Meticulously composed and cathartically executed, “Hymn 151″ is an energizing single touching on how hedonistic appetites can overrule our better judgment, even when it’s self-destructive and unsatisfying. “Hymn 151” is available now on all streaming platforms worldwide.

Coming off a 10-year hiatus, Hot Bodies In Motion, comprised of Ben Carson and Scott Johnson, are reestablishing themselves through “Hymn 151,” their latest single off of upcoming EP, Fortune. Their unique sound, described as “baby-making mammal funk” and “soulful swagger,” gives the duo creative freedom as they break genres. The hard-hitting storytelling through unvarnished lyrics, fused with a groovy dynamic beat, sets the tone for tension between emotional needs and physical desires.

“The foundational elements of Hymn 151 were written and recorded ten years ago, but the band parted ways before it was finished,” explains Carson. “This song has stuck with me all those years, and it gives me so much joy to revive it as a bridge to those earlier releases.” Written by both Carson and Johnson, the track was recorded with the original drum and bass recording from 2013, with additional audio from a Youtube video that filmed their first live performance of the song. “Hymn 151” was produced and engineered by David Miner.

Hot Bodies in Motion was formed by good friends Scott Johnson and Ben Carson in a Seattle basement 12 years ago. Both began music early in their lives through church, with Carson’s first instrument being bass and Johnson’s guitar. The duo traces their influences to a variety of artists ranging from Pharrell Williams and The Black Keys to Rage Against the Machine and Mariah Carey.

With inescapable guitar hooks, pulsing rhythms, and a vintage vibe, Hot Bodies in Motion both promises and delivers. They’ve collaborated with notable artists such as Macklemore, Natalie from JOSEPH, and Allen Stone. Furthermore, they’ve championed major media outlets with placements in the Lionsgate Film Abduction, Netflix’s Lucifer, and NBC’s The Night Shift.

“Hymn 151” proves that Hot Bodies In Motion is back and better than ever. The song is available for streaming and download now on all digital platforms worldwide.
