The debut UK album ‘I Started A Garden’ from Her Skin was released on 30th September 2022 digitally and 6th January 2023 on vinyl via WWNBB. The album contains three critically acclaimed singles ‘Suitable’, ‘Heavy-Heated’ and ‘Confident’ and the new single – the album’s title track ‘I Started A Garden’ is released on 7th October.

Originally from Modena, Italy, Her Skin is 25-year-old singer songwriter, Sara Ammendolia. Sara started writing songs when she was fifteen years old and always had a huge passion for music.

The first song she ever liked was Le Freak by Chic and she now takes inspiration for her own music from many bands / artists including, Sibylle Baier, Vashti Bunyan, Mac DeMarco, Beirut, Joni Mitchell, Jay Malinowski, The Kinks, the Head and the Heart.

“It took me three years to write and record these nine songs, and I am aware that I’m not the same person I was when I started working on this record, but that’s what makes it so special to me. It’s an album about the lessons I learned, the people I loved, the time it took me to heal.

‘I Started a Garden’ is a crash course on how to deal with the mess of being in your twenties, feeling lonely, nostalgic and out of place and not knowing where you belong. While writing this album I was just waiting to ‘become myself again’, but I learned that everything you bury is a seed.” -SARA AMMENDOLIA

This year she has performed at numerous festivals including SXSW in Texas, The Great Escape in Brighton, Mondo in New York, Primavera in Barcelona and is due to perform at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg later this month. She has also done multiple tours around the world taking in Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, India and United States.

Her Skin will be performing at Reeperbahn in Hamburg at the end of September, and will be performing at Mondo in New York in October. More live dates will be announced shortly.
