Ex-Nemesis Releases Nostalgic End-of-the-Summer Hymn, ‘In This Blue’

On September 16th, London-based singer-songwriter & producer Ex-Nemesis releases her new song ‘In This Blue’, a wistful track about growing older, to mark the end of the summer.

Following the release of her debut single ‘Lessons’ earlier this year, and the late-night track ‘Call Me Up’ in June, the singer-songwriter, who has chosen to keep her anonymity, is back with another release exploring the transition between teenage years into adulthood.

Themes of nostalgia, coming-of-age and navigating your twenties in this day and age are prevalent throughout Ex-Nemesis’ work as she tries to make sense of the world around her; and this new track is no exception.

‘In This Blue’ follows the same DIY process of the last 2 singles with every element of the song being recorded and produced at home by the artist herself.

Talking about the track, Ex-Nemesis says “I first started writing this song in March 2020 during lockdown. As I was stuck at home, I took some time to reconnect with the music I used to love when I was 15.

I was feeling really nostalgic for that period of my life as I was going through this strange transition in your early 20s where you stop feeling like a kid but don’t feel like an adult yet. You are discovering the world, going through all those new experiences while the future still feels so uncertain.

But you don’t have to worry about it just yet; right now you are blasting music in your best friend’s car on your way to a party and the whole night is still ahead of you.”
