EDEN RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘NO FUTURE’ TODAY!

February 14th, 2020 — (Hollywood, CA) — Vocalist/producer/multi-instrumentalist EDEN releases his new album, no future, today via Astralwerks. On his sophomore release, EDEN takes an outward-looking perspective with the looming threat of the climate crisis informing much of his songwriting. But while its songs often return to themes of finality and loss, no future unfolds with an unlikely splendor that ultimately makes for a transcendent listening experience. As with all his music, no future was recorded and self-produced in EDEN’s home studio in Dublin. Download/stream the album HERE.

EDEN (Dublin-bred artist Jonathon Ng) will kick off the “no future” North American headline tour this spring. The tour commences on April 23rd in Dallas and crisscrosses North America before concluding on June 13th in Phoenix. Every ticket sold includes a copy of the new album. keshi will be direct support on all dates. Rence will join on the first half of the dates and MACKandgold will appear on the second half. Please see below for the itinerary. Prior to touring North America, EDEN will tour the UK and Europe. Visit https://ftrbnd.co/tour for all dates.

Says EDEN, “Sustainability has been the logistics core of the no future album campaign; from the organic cotton in our clothing, to the packaging materials used to ship it. Every item sold included a dollar donation towards the environmental impact of its production – which I am also matching.”

EDEN has partnered with the green touring company Reverb to make no future Nalgene reusable water bottles as part of their #RockNRefill initiative. Single-use plastic water bottles are one of the biggest sources of waste at live music events.

These bottles will be sold at all upcoming shows. Each sale will ultimately offset the carbon footprint of EDEN’s tours.

EDEN continues, “In addition to reducing single-use plastic waste, the funds generated from the sales of these bottles and the funds raised from our online store, will go towards neutralizing our carbon footprint down to zero. Not only for this tour but all past tours which includes the transport of the fans to the shows. 100% of the money raised from these custom Nalgene bottles will help fund climate change-fighting projects around the world.”

EDEN previously unveiled four tracks from the album, including “isohel,” of which Uproxx said, “With an expansive soundscape, (“isohel”) evokes nostalgia and yearning. Best New Pop Music From This Week.” ”isohel” follows the album tracks, “untitled,” “projector” and “‘love, death, distraction’ which V Magazine deems, “a hauntingly beautiful slow jam that doubles as a reflection of our relationship with our phones, brought to life by the strums of a guitar and Ng’s euphonious ennui…”
Throughout no future,EDEN matches playfully inventive sound design with the elegant musicality he discovered as a child.

Classically trained in violin from the age of seven, he later picked up piano and guitar and played in a number of bands in his early teens. Released in January 2018, his full-length debut album, vertigo shot to No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 12 countries, racking up over 200 million streams globally. To date, EDEN has amassed over one billion streams for vertigo and his two EPs: 2015’s End Credits and 2016’s i think you think too much of me — a Billboard 200-charting EP featuring the Lorde-supported lead single “sex.”

In reflecting on his trajectory in recent years, EDEN points to an undeniable irony in the title to his new album. “After making the End Credits EP, which is what enabled so many things to happen for me, I felt very lost, all the way through the whole vertigo period,” he says. “Now I feel like I’m back on track, like this record is some kind of starting point or launchpad—which I suppose is funny for an album that’s constantly referencing the end of things.”
