Smooth vocalist, brilliant guitarist and all-around talent, Cobi, debuts single “Island In My Mind,” today. The single comes after a hiatus in which Cobi dealt with the passing of his father and welcomed the joy of having his first daughter.

“Island In My Mind” releases Cobi’s raw emotions into the single, showcasing triumphantly uplifting lyrics and vocals. This track demonstrated the numbness and coat of armor that many put on to keep moving forward. In this encouraging anthem, Cobi relates to the masses by practicing vulnerability and meshing the light drums with somber strings from guitars. The release brings together all of Cobi’s fans but also new audiophiles that have an appreciation of specialized sound and work that the “Don’t You Cry For Me” singer is known for producing.

Gaining praise from Billboard, Huffington Post, NPR, Interview Magazine, and many others, Cobi is continuing to rise to success following his two-part EP, Songs from the Ashes. Proven to be a voice that needs to be listened to, Cobi provides fans an innovative bridge between the blues and soul genres. Being a Minnesota native, Cobi was honored when Prince’s musical director, Morris Hayes, embraced the opportunity to perform together on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon before Cobi hit the road.

Performing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Firefly, BottleRock, Hangout and Electric Forest, time and time again has proven Cobi to be an act that deserves the limelight.
Cobi began his solo music journey in May 2016, when he released his debut single, “Don’t You Cry For Me”. It caught the ear of industry veteran Lyor Cohen who immediately signed Cobi to his label 300 Entertainment. The track reached #1 on Spotify’s Most Viral Chart (World), rose to the top of SiriusXM’s Spectrum Chart and has surpassed 30 million streams to date.

The music video, depicting police brutality in America, debuted on The Shade Room, with a live performance on NPR to follow. Cobi is onto the next chapter of his career with his latest single “Island In My Mind,” and is only moving upward.
