Blastphemy is an Indonesian melodic death metal band from Malang City, East Java, formed in 2020, with a melodic touch of death metal music and metal grooves.

The band is influenced by The Black Dahlia Murder, Lamb of God, Obscura, Wretched, Arch Enemy, and At the Gates. Blastphemy members include lead vocalist Hikam Sultan, lead guitarist Dedek Nirwan, rhythm guitarist Andrianus Jon, and drummer Sugar Dhandhit.

Their first single entitled ‘Gemohing’ is an explosive track composed by Dedek Nirwan and the lyrics written by Hikam Sultan. Gemohing is a tradition from the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Indonesia, which broadly means mutual cooperation and togetherness.

The meaning of the lyrics of ‘Gemohing’ is about resistance against individualism as what Hikam thought. “This song was released as the first single because we think the music as a whole can represent the color of Blastphemy’s music,” stated Dedek, the songsmith of the unit.

After the release of the first single, Blastphemy will start working on their first album. They plan to present 2 more songs while waiting for the process of making the first album. Feel the spirit of ‘Gemohing’ at various digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube Music, Deezer, Pandora, Tidal, and others.
