Swedish pop sensation Be The Bear returns today with the energetic and anthemic summertime single, “I Don’t Want To.” Mixing a bubbly yet clever pop sensibility with an avant-garde persona reminiscent of Bjork and AURORA, the Swedish producer, songwriter and artist, is emerging as the next big thing to come out of Scandinavia.

Atwood Magazine exclusively premiered “I Don’t Want To” yesterday, describing it as “dynamic, charismatic, and insanely catchy, it’s got all the makings of an indie hit.” Effervescent, vibrant, and irresistible, “I Don’t Want To” is about refusing to sit and wait for things to come to you. It’s a demand to be heard, to get things done, and to not let anything get in your way.

Be The The Bear is the nom de plume of Swedish artist and producer Christina Wehage. She is also the founder of the record label Loud Attic Records. Christina is a one-woman music machine, ready to take this male dominated industry by storm.

Her debut single “Erupt” was released last year and was featured in an international TV commercial for Volvo. The single climbed the iTunes charts in Sweden, reaching no. 1 on the Alternative charts and no. 5 on All Genres.

The alias Be The Bear derives from Wehage’s childhood fear of bears and recurring cold-sweat nightmares. “I used to dream about them every night, chasing me up old wooden staircases. When dreams come back again and again, I think it’s because you’re trying to deal with something. I wasn’t facing my fears and challenging myself”. Christina adopted the totem of the wild bear, creating a powerful musical persona for herself.
