Continuing to tease her forthcoming “Cover Series” EP due for release next month, UK top 10 artist Andreya Triana unveils the second teaser track from her upcoming project with ‘By Your Side’.
Covering Sade’s GRAMMY nominated track and with production from multi-talented DJ and producer Pablo Nouvelle, the seasoned vocalist puts her stamp on the critically acclaimed 2000 release, as she allows her flawless soulful vocal performance and emotive energy to shine through on the acoustic track.
Quickly following the first introduction of the “Cover Series” EP with ‘[Simply] The Best’, the release of her third studio album “Life in Colour” and the stunning duet ‘10 Steps To Heaven’ with South London singer-songwriter Jake Isaac, the anticipated EP is set to be a refreshing continuation of Andreya’s new music gems shared for the year.
Speaking on the track, Andreya said: “I’ve always been a huge Sade fan and jumped at the chance of covering my favourite song of hers. Pablo Nouvelle was a fantastic producer to work with on this track and it feels wonderful to have our own interpretation of such a beautiful song.”
With three critically acclaimed albums released to date and having written for the likes of Bonobo and Flying Lotus, “Life In Colour” beautifully captures her music journey. As she touches upon topics of adulthood and womanhood throughout, she gives listeners a personal account of her achievements as a woman in music and her humble beginnings, prior to her pending tribute to some track favourites on the “Cover Series” EP.
With credits in DJ’ing and production as well as film making, Pablo Nouvelle is known for his smooth blend of Electronic and Soul music – a trait of which was perfectly displayed on his debut album, “Wired” which came out earlier this year.
Having previously worked with Andreya on ‘Sunshine In Stereo’, Pablo added: “Andreya Triana came up to me with the request if I’d like to cover Sade’s ‘By Your Side’. As I’m not only a huge fan of Sade but also loved to work with Andreya on previous projects, I was definitely up for that experiment.”
Closing out a busy year of releases and with early support coming in from key tastemakers including EVENING STANDARD, CLASH, THE GUARDIAN, THE LINE OF BEST FIT and DROWNED IN SOUND, Andreya’s strong presence on the Soul circuit continues to cement her as one of the UK’s most influential artist’s of the genre.
