ANOTHER SKY UNVEIL STIRRING VIDEO FOR SINGLE “Chillers”

2018 has charted an impressive rise for emerging UK act Another Sky. The band has captivated media and fans alike with their debut EP ‘Forget Yourself’ and recent single ‘Avalanche,’ featuring unbridled cinematic sonics, anchored by political poignancy and lead singer Catrin Vincent’s astonishing, otherworldly vocals.

Another Sky’s new single ‘Chillers’ follows suit. Last night the band performed the song on Later… with Jools Holland and The FADER just premiered its provocative accompanying video. Directed by Najeeb Tarazi (Hippo Campus, Gaz Coombes)the clip follows a broke young man who works at a car wash and dreams of fixing his bike; depicting the hollow striving of Hollywood.

Speaking on the ‘Chillers’ video, lead singer Catrin Vincent notes:

“We really loved Najeeb’s take on the song. He understood that it’s not just another takedown of Hollywood. Instead, he chose to follow the relatively untold story of the bike scene in L.A.

Our generation is unique; a generation lambasted by the media, labeled as ‘ungrateful millennials’ because we’re dissatisfied working jobs our grandparents would have been grateful for. But we’re a generation that has changed more rapidly than any other, one that takes risks and rejects tradition.

We need to look at why minimum wage has remained so static while the price of living has risen dramatically. We need to notice and support the worker strikes against big corporations.”

‘Chillers’ hints to a classic pop sensibility, delivering social commentary with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and dressed with an insatiable melodic hook. It’s a woozy, sarcastic pop song, confronting the complacency often accompanied by wealth. “Why worry ‘bout the weather or nuclear weapons when they eat for free on a black card at Nandos?” she asks. “It’s about knowing something is bullshit, but reaching for it anyway.”

In a climate, often saturated by homogenized pop and monotony, Another Sky are thrillingly conscientious and evocative artists, offering a fresh point to the conversation for 2018 and furthermore.
