(New York – NY) – Versatile singer/rapper T. Shan returns with his rose-toned single “Your Man,” out now. A tender and heartfelt ballad, the track depicts a narrative of healing and opening oneself up to love again despite past heartbreak.

Anchored by warm, full-hearted choruses highlighting love despite the ephemerality of life and passionate verses detailing the mundanity of affection, the track showcases T. Shan’s pleading, earnest delivery.

At once soothing but raw in its expression, the track blends powerful vocals with twinkling, lo-fi-influenced production by 8ROKEBOY (UMI, Rxseboy) that invites you to share in the artist’s vulnerability.

The release is paired with a painterly animated lyric video, illustrating the love story described in the song: “Show me your demons, I’ll take their hands,” T. Shan sings. Based off the album art, which is hand-drawn by the artist, the video gives a visual tableau to the song’s depiction of love. As couple exists both as individuals within the greater world and within their own little fairytale world in equal measure.

    T. Shan explains “When I wrote this song, I’d just met someone special, and it documents my decision to open myself up wholeheartedly to another person again, asking them to do the same. I took great joy in the small acts of affection; cooking together, dancing in the living room, and enjoying the moment so much we let the food burn just a little.”

It’s the first single off his upcoming EP, “Flowers & Spice,” out January 2023. T. Shan’s last EP “Spectrums” has amassed over 3 million streams across all platforms, and his track “BDSM” from the EP was played on 88Rising SiriusXM radio. His music has received coverage from Variance Magazine and Uranium Waves, among other outlets.

    ABOUT T. Shan

    T. Shan is an artist based out of NYC, but his roots stretch far beyond. Raised between China and both coasts of the US, he weaves his culture and multitude of experiences into his music. Which blends increasingly wide genre influences, from hip hop to bedroom pop, all united by his biting yet confessional lyrics.

Emigrating to Los Angeles at age 6 from China, T. Shan was exposed to a vibrant new world, yet retained an already-established cultural identity that informs his music to this day.

Dropping phrases and words of Mandarin into his lyrics, he finds strength in his background and ancestry standing out in America. Moving a few years after immigration to the New York area, T. Shan was influenced by east coast sensibilities, and his sharp-tongued, candid lyrics create contrasting tones with the sunny instrumentation.

The versatile singer/rapper’s work reflects the highs and lows of modern love. Yet, he never loses sight of where he and his family came from.
