Making sense of spiraling thoughts and sleepless nights, budding Isle of Wight outfit, As We Leave unveil their spaced-out debut single, “Body Clock” via Abbey Records.

Matching saturated dream pop with silver-tonged psychedelia, As We Leave project a mirage to marvel at under the beaming Isle of Wight sun. Made up of lifelong friends, all situated on the picturesque bay of Sandown, their music is awash with rural island heritage and wide-angled frames of sepia-toned nostalgia. Layers of sun-kissed Americana dazzle the edges of British vulnerability, with shared memories of attending school and traveling the world all wound into the band’s rich and cohesive framework.

Grounded by DIY sensibilities, their debut single, “Body Clock” is a timely introduction for a band who have long been defining their panoramic aesthetic. Arriving as their first release on Abbey Records, ‘Body Clock’ is a bleary-eyed gaze, searching for where our minds wander at night. Kaleidoscopic soundscapes permeate drowsy melodies and lo-fi textures, all connecting a tightly woven dream sequence that extends beyond the normal and mundane.

Frontman, Caine Entwistle: “I’m not the best sleeper in the world, I find the silence and darkness of the night comforting but it also makes any philosophical thought processes long and drawn out to the nth degree, into the early hours of the morning, so “Body Clock” is about those long drawn out hours of thinking… and then the obvious physical side effects of that.”
