Indie-pop singer/songwriter James Quick reveals the name of his upcoming EP ‘Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay’ alongside the release of his latest music video titled “I’m Fine.”

The somber video, shot and directed by Hunter Moreno (Tana Mongeau, Mod Sun), leads the way sonically and thematically into James’s forthcoming EP, which explores the many facets of mental health.

Accompanying the announcement of his EP, James is unveiling his collaboration with mental health awareness brand, Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay. James has dedicated a portion of the proceeds from his EP sales to be donated to the JED Foundation, a nonprofit that protects emotional health and prevents suicide for teens and young adults.

Supported by Timothy Granaderos Jr. (13 Reasons Why), blackbear, Alexander23, Maty Noyes, and more, Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay’s mission is centered around the very crucial reminder to check up on the people you care about and start conversations about often tough topics.

“Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay is a mental health organization founded by my good friend Hunter. I love the company and everything it stands for, and I’ve been lucky enough to play at their events and get involved in any way I can over the past year. I’ve been watching MSYFAO grow for a while now, so to finally be releasing such a meaningful project to me and to their message is very exciting. This single, “I’m Fine,” is important because in my darkest times, it’s hard to get me to talk about what I’m dealing with. If you’re like me and you’re feeling at your worst, you may also say you’re fine even when you’re not. While the goal of the company is to start these conversations, it’s important to recognize that sometimes it can be challenging.”

James Quick has performed at the past few MSYFAO events in front of attendees like Paris Hilton, Cisco Adler, Goody Grace, Mitchy Collins and Michael Yerger.

In 2015, Quick emerged with not much more than a handful of tracks recorded in his dorm room. With a jazz upbringing in the heart of New Orleans, he developed a songwriting style balancing effortless hooks with poignant storytelling about relationships, fears and ambitions. A producer in his own right, he incorporates exploratory guitar work with electronic and hip-hop elements to bring a refreshing and young energy to his compositions. James has shared the stage with MØ, RAC, Atlas Genius, and Mat Kearney.
