Houston’s viral R&B sensation Inayah closes out 2019 with her debut album S.O.L.A.R. [Inayahlator Enterprises/EMPIRE], an acronym for Storytelling Over Lyrics and Rhymes. For the Houston native, who got her start creating jingles and viral cover videos, the narrative always comes first, and the beat follows. The 12-track album is a window into Inayah’s life, as she consistently weaves personal experiences into her music. Her 1.6 million Instagram followers (aka “Inayahlators”) connect to her no holds barred perspective on love lost and love found. Stream S.O.L.A.R. HERE.

Inayah’s debut album S.O.L.A.R. explores intimacy, heartbreak and everything in between with both vulnerable and resilient tracks including “Real Love” (produced by DJ Chose) and Tha Aristocrats-produced ballad “Best Thing,” which was inspired by a real heartbreak. In a Vibe exclusive Inayah shared, “I went into the lab and wrote [“Best Thing”] while I was ending a relationship that had a strong hold over me. I literally cried in the booth as I was singing it.” In contrast, Inayah’s playful, charismatic personality shines on “Suga Daddy,” produced by Micah who penned Sevyn Streeter and Chris Brown’s “It Won’t Stop”and Ella Mai’s “Shot Clock.” Refinery29 premiered the sultry “Suga Daddy” visual on ‘The Drop’ and highlighted Inayah’s catchy chorus, “Make a bitch come faster than Amazon Prime.” In addition, track #7 on the project—“N.A.S.” (N*ggas A’int Sh*t)—serves as the ultimate female anthem. The sassy, attitude-fueled bop, produced by Kartier, champions women banding together when liars and cheaters get caught creepin’. Bossip touted the single as a current day version of TLC’s “No Scrubs” classic.
