Elite electronic tastemaker and Octopus Recordings founder Sian has just released his new EP Ultraviolet 2.0, out now on mau5trap.
Following the project’s first component, Ultraviolet 1.0, Sian satisfies listeners with the second installation. Ultraviolet 2.0 further showcases Sian’s techno versatility with tracks heavily influenced by industrial, darkwave, synthwave and classical electro. His ever evolving sounds flow throughout each track with his implementation of acid sounds and varying sound design techniques.
The first track “Planets” starts off the EP with a heavy bassline and eerie melody. “Opium” follows with booming and cynical basslines, and “Nitro” takes us home with a throbbing bassline and dark experimental vibes exuding from every sound.
Sian’s undeniable techno mastery has not gone unnoticed. He’s released music on several renowned labels such as Bedrock, Pokerflat, Soma and now he has created a label of his own with his Octopus Recordings imprint. Staying true to his experimental roots, Sian and Octopus created an underground party concept named Octopus Warehouse.
Known for his stoic stage presence and dark and alluring curation, Sian has booked shows worldwide, and just recently packed out the Pink Tent at HARD Summer with his second project AMOK with Will Clarke. His craft has been recognized by electronic mastermind deadmau5, earning him direct support spots for deadmau5’s highly anticipated The Cube V3 tour.
Sian is currently taking his sounds to the stage on tour, opening for deadmau5 on September 20 and 26 with a variety of other shows in-between.
