Hastings born singer-songwriter Sam Calver creates music with compassion.
His latest release “River” was penned soon after the birth of his firstborn child. With an achingly simple message of affinity and kinship between father and son at its core, the track is inspired by unconditional love – an ode to the people and experiences that mean the most to us.
“‘River’ is a classic love song but written from a place I have never found myself in before…Fatherhood”, Sam explains. “Written in only 45 minutes, it poured out of me like it had already been written in my head. I hope listeners can find their loved ones in this song too and relate to it. This was the first song for me that changed my approach to songwriting, coming from an honest and heartfelt place. I will be forever proud of this song.”
