Speedy Ortiz is wrapping up a massive year that saw the band release their critically acclaimed third album Twerp Verse, and go on extensive tours including headline dates and support tours with the likes of Liz Phair, The Breeders, Against Me!, as well as an opening slot at Fenway Park with The Foo Fighters. Additionally, front person Sadie Dupuis released her first full-length collection of poetry entitled Mouthguard this Fall. Before the band ends the year with a few more tour dates starting tonight, Speedy Ortiz shares a new music video, an animated, claymation portrayal of “I’m Blessed.” Watch the video here.

“I was given an incredible amount of freedom and trust when making the music video for ‘I’m Blessed.’ The song already had so much creative imagery and Sadie, herself, was a great inspiration,” explains animator Hannah Darrah. “I hope viewers are able to appreciate the idea that we have the ability to summon different aspects of ourselves and we have the power to use those traits to save us from our own snakes and coyotes.”

Speedy Ortiz is: Sadie Dupuis (guitar, vox, synths), Andy Molholt (guitar), Darl Ferm (bass) and Mike Falcone (drums)

Speedy Ortiz front person Sadie Dupuis just released a full-length collection of poetry entitled Mouthguard, out now on Gramma Press. Dupuis started writing these poems in 2011, the same autumn she tossed a few home-recorded solo demos onto Bandcamp and called them “Speedy Ortiz.”
