Ahead of a headlining gig at LA’s famed Hotel Cafe on August 9th, Sophia Scott is returning today with another delightfully genre-bending release, “White Fence.”

“White Fence” is an empowering anthem inspired by the outdated ideal of the “white picket fence” way of living. Rejecting a life of living in suburbia with her husband and kids, Scott is providing a tongue-in-cheek yet important message through “White Fence,” letting young women know that it’s okay to carve your own path and reject old-fashioned gender ideals.

With each new release, Sophia Scott proves that she isn’t afraid to speak out and be vulnerable. Scott’s powerful vocals, empowering lyricism, and slick pop melodies are helping this LA-based artist to put her unique stamp on country music.

Boulder-born, LA-based Sophia Scott is determined not to be restricted by genre. Combining a country twang with catchy pop melodies and R&B-esque vocals, Scott is creating an eclectic lane of her own.

Scott started gaining traction by posting YouTube covers that she recorded in her bedroom with just a guitar and a mic. Her powerful cover of Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” has over 1 million views and her bluesy cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” has been picked up by almost every major country blog. While grabbing a guitar and belting out a cover is still her favorite party trick, Scott is ready to establish herself as a story teller with an inventive, fresh sound.
