Laurel Laxxes Returns With Single, "Somewhere New" ft. Gavin Beach

Australian producer Laurel Laxxes returns with more of his unique blends of atmospheric electronica via his new single “Somewhere New,” which features the soulful vocal sounds of UK artist Gavin Beach and is also the latest release from Mammal Sounds Records.

The first drafts of “Somewhere New” were written around the time Laurel Laxxes was working at Acapela Studios in Cardiff, UK. He was inspired by the incredible visual landscapes from around that area and has created the beautifully lush and atmospheric sounds that we find in “Somewhere New.”

‘I was living such an incredible life at this point. Being enamored with the new landscapes I was finding myself in around Europe whilst being afforded the opportunity to collaborate with international artists left me feeling so inspired and positive.’ – Laure Laxxes

Through the experience of working alongside various different projects in the recording studio, it was here that Laurel Laxxes was introduced to Cardiff singer Gavin Beach, and the two artists hit it off for what would be a successful partnership to come.

‘I met Gavin and his producer at the studio in the hills and instantly fell in love with Gavin’s voice and admired his laid back and respectful personality. Upon returning to Australia, I knew that I had to get Gavin on the track, knowing his vocals would sit perfectly in the track and absolutely shine where they needed to.’
