Senegalese songstress Marieme is featured on the Shaheed & Dixa track “Fi Moy Senegal” available on all digital platforms now. The video was released in April to honor Senegal Independence Day and since then, the single has become the song of the summer with the Senegal National football (soccer) team The Lions of Terangaha adopting the song as an un-official anthem, being one win away from the Africa Cup of Nations happening today in Egypt.
The video has amassed nearly 140k plays on YouTube since it was posted.

New to the scene, with just one EP released last year, Marieme has already shared the stage with notable players including African music legends Youssou N’dour and Baba Maal as well as Akon who she plans to work with very soon. She left her native Africa as a youngster when war broke out between Mauritania, where her family was living, and her home country of Senegal. Tragedies of conflict from such a young age and her travels around the world have inspired Marieme to become more conscious about the world around her and how she could work to connect people with the healing potential of music. Now dividing her time between New York City and Los Angeles, expect a lot more from Marieme.
Marieme is currently in the studio with plans for a debut LP to be released early next year.
