For her new urban-pop single “New Type Of Woman,” Los Angeles-based rising singer, songwriter, and musician Cairo Gold has teamed up with the highly acclaimed 23-year-old Republic Records rapper Uno The Activist for a seductive female empowerment anthem that Gold describes as being for “the type of woman who works hard, plays hard, loves hard and takes no shit.”
Cairo co-wrote the track with Uno and Da Black Mic (Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled, Rihanna) who also produced it. The track exclusively premiered on Billboard who called it the “ultimate work hard, play hard anthem… perfect for the end of summer” and commended the collaboration saying, “Cairo Gold is self-assured and assertive on the new track, forming a complementary pair with Uno The Activist’s seductive flow.”

“My new single ‘New Type Of Woman’ is for the type of the woman who works hard, plays hard, loves hard and takes no shit,” Cairo told Billboard in an exclusive statement. “She is a feminist nouveau – too busy basking in the beautiful life she is creating for herself daily to spend any time or energy passing petty judgement on other women.”
She continues, “If you’re with her, it’s not because she needs you, it’s because she wants you. She is not afraid to make mistakes and is always learning, growing, and truly living life to the fullest. She rests easy knowing that whatever is meant for her will never miss her and what misses her was never meant for her. Whether she is a CEO of a billion dollar business, a maid, florist, photographer, stripper, singer, or mail room assistant – she’s in her power. This new type of woman is smart, sexy, provocative and a force to be reckoned with. “
Cairo Gold has been described as having “Amy Winehouse-cum-Kali Uchis vocals” (Baeble) and is off the heels of her self-titled 2018 debut EP in which she co-wrote each song. The EPsaw two singles chart on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist and has since clocked over 400,000 streams.
After finding unprecedented success on SoundCloud with over 30 million streams, Atlanta-based Republic Records rapper Uno The Activist has taken the rap world by storm gaining support from leading industry outlets like The FADER and Pitchfork. Uno dropped his debut mixtape in 2015 and gained traction with “Parkin’ Lot Pimpin.” He has racked up over 6 million views and 40 million streams from his music that includes half a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
