James Bambu is a Brooklyn based recording artist and songwriter who is well on his way to becoming a major innovator in the world of Soul and R&B. Gifted with the ability to deliver velvety smooth, spellbinding vocals, he’s on a mission to provide the most organic & purest of sounds.
He tells stories of love and life directly from his own experiences, and he aims to do nothing more than connect with his listeners at an emotional level.
James’ first EP Soulo was released in December 2016 after moving from his hometown Atlanta to NYC in search of a more open, opportunistic music scene for Soul and R&B. James spent a year working on new music with Famous Honey Collective’s Herrick & Hooley before joining them on their first North American tour.
In the run up to the release of is sophomore project Del Sol in May 2018, James was invited to do a Colors Berlin session of his Succulent release.
Taking influence from D’Angelo, Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill along with other prominent R&B and soul artists from his childhood, James Bambu returns with “Sunny Daze,” stemming from traditional R&B James puts a new twist on what we know as soulful music.
“I wrote this song for everyone that’s searching for inspiration or a breakthrough in a sea of stress, pressure, and hopelessness. Growing into an adult comes with understanding your capabilities and limitations through self-reflection and self-motivation, so I’m excited for the people that have been using this song as their personal pep-talk, to finally see the visual.”
“Sunny Daze” is released on June 26, I’d highly suggest keeping your eyes and ears tuned into James Bambu.
